Keep towels and bathrobes within arm’s reach by installing a robe hook in your bathroom. It's a simple DIY project that shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes to tackle - even if you're a beginner!

- Drill and Bits
- Robe Hook
- Level
- Hammer
- Mounting Hardware (bracket, anchors, screws)
- Pencil
Step 1: Determine Placement
Take the length of your robe or towels into account and determine where you’ll want to install the robe hook. Most robe hooks are installed about 65-70 inches off the ground.
If you’re installing more than one robe hook, place them 9 inches apart to account for how much space a towel or robe takes up. Learn more about bathroom hardware placement guidelines.
Step 2: Mark Drywall Anchor Holes
Unless you’re installing the robe hook into a stud, you’ll need to use drywall anchors. Grab the mounting bracket and mark holes for both anchors.
Step 3: Drill Starter Holes and Install Drywall Anchors
Choose a drill bit that’s slightly smaller than the anchors and drill the starter holes. Insert the anchors and gently tap them with a hammer until they’re flush.
Step 4: Align & Install Mounting Bracket
Line the mounting bracket up with the anchors and slowly drive the screws in. This will secure the mounting bracket to the wall.
Step 5: Attach & Secure Robe Hook to Mounting Bracket
Attach the robe hook to the mounting bracket, latching it on from the top. Secure it to the bracket using a hex key. Once it’s secured, you’re ready to hang your towels or robe in style.
